What is your privacy policy for using Presenter for Confluence?

You can find our privacy policy here and our Terms of Service here.

I can't export my presentation as PDF, because the button is disabled. Why?

Due to technical reasons, you have to use Google Chrome to export your presentation as PDF.

I can't see images in my presentation...

This is most probably due to a bug in Confluence. You must not use "/" (forward slash) in the title of a page.

Confluence is not able to serve the specified images if the page/article name contains a "/" character. To fix this issue, please rename the article to something without a "/" in the title.

I do not see the "Present" link in the article tools menu

This probably means that your trial license expired or is not valid. Contact your Confluence administrator to renew. If you own a valid license and the link is still not shown, please contact our support.

We have 200 Confluence Users, but we only have 5 people who would create the presentations. Does that mean we only need the license for the 5 people?
  • It doesn't matter how many editors you'll have, it depends on what Confluence license you have.
    Please check here:

“Purchase the license tier that matches the number of users you have licensed for your host product. For example, if you have a 25-user Confluence license, purchase the Confluence app at the 25-user tier. The app will only function if its license matches or exceeds the tier of the host product – even if only some of your licensed users need to use the app…”. Source:

Display of different kinds of content

My Confluence pages contain Jira issue macros. Presenter does not display all information. Why?

Unfortunately, Confluence does not pass any of the additional information for Jira issue macros to add-ons like Presenter. Presenter only receives the issue key and the URL. The best thing to do is to display this as beautiful as possible.

We hope that Atlassian will enhance that behavior in the future.

As a workaround, Jira issue tables (in contrast to single issues) are not affected - so just use Jira issue tables and you should be fine.

There are black borders around my images. How can I remove them?

The black borders are controlled by your base theme. You can either choose another theme or override the CSS to fix this issue. You can find more information about creating/editing Presenter themes here.

How can I customise the presentation PDF?

You can customise the PDF of your presentation by editing the theme in the admin area Presenter > Themes > Your theme. If you use a base theme there is a styling category called Print Background that shows you how a print media query is used.

For further instructions take a look at our tutorial regarding print styling: Customize your PDF export

How to switch off H1, which triggers a new slide?

You can do it while creating a new Theme. Before you save your new theme, please turn the option "New Slide after title" off.

Can I insert an image into the title slide and how?

Yes, you can. A prerequisite is that your image is somewhere online, and you know the URL of it. Here is a code example for adding a background image with custom CSS in the Theme Editor

.reveal .title-slide .slide-background-content {
    background-image: url("");
    background-size: cover;
    background-color: #000;

What this CSS code does:

  1. It targets the first slide background container with ".reveal .title-slide .slide-background-content".

  2. "background-image: url('...');" adds the URL of your image to the selected element

  3. "background-size: cover;" scales the image so big, that it covers the hole element, no matter what aspect ratio your screen and image is

  4. "background-color: #000;" adds a fallback color if your image is not available any more

Why can't I import themes?
  • Please check the installed version of Presenter for Confluence. We added the Space Themes feature in Version 3.3.0. The import/export feature was added in Version 3.2.0.

  • If you have an older version installed, feel free to update it. Given that you have a version greater or equal to 3.2.0:

  • You should also be a Confluence Admin, as you must have permission to manage the system-wide available themes via the Confluence settings. Open the Confluence Preferences, look for the section heading "Presenter" in the sidebar and click on the "Themes" item. You should now see all global and room themes and the "Import Theme" button.
