Migrating from DC versions < 10 to 10 or above

Confluence DC 10 brings some big changes under the hood - Atlassian replaced some of the core libraries powering Confluence and the app ecosystem. While this is great in terms of security and for the future of the ecosystem, this brings some challenges for app developers.

Until now, we were able to keep Slide Presenter compatible with every Confluence Server / DC version from 6 to 9. Unfortunately, this will end with Confluence 10. We will provide two different versions - one for all versions up until 9, one for Confluence 10 and above.

Upgrading to Confluence 10 or above

When you upgrade to Confluence 10 or above from a lower version, make sure that you install the latest version of Slide Presenter in your old instance before upgrading. This will make sure that all your Slide Presenter data is in perfect shape to be used in the new versions.

The Slide Presenter versions for Confluence 10 and above do NOT contain migration jobs that convert very old themes to the contemporary format, because the new Confluence versions do not support the underlying technologies.

Make sure that you have the latest version of Slide Presenter installed in your old instance before upgrading. This makes sure that all data is already converted in formats that work with Confluence 10 and above.

Then, you are save to upgrade!

Support timeplan for Confluence versions < 10

We will continue releasing updates for Slide Presenter for Confluence for Confluence versions below version 10 as long as they are supported by Atlassian - the current LTS version 9.2 is supported until December 2026, which is our plan as well.
